About Wayfare Tavern
Upon entering Wayfare Tavern, a journey back to the early 1900's San Francisco begins. The building at 558 Sacrament Street was salvaged with fire-burned bricks from the streets of the devastated City after the San Francisco Earthquake and Great Fire of 1906. Every detail of the space, from the warm hearth of the fireplace to the William Morris wallpaper, was designed with the Barbary Coast and the turn of the century in mind. Wayfare Tavern brings a unique culinary vision and style to San Francisco, featuring authentic American dishes inspired by the city's restaurant scene of the early 1900's.

Wayfare Tavern’s innovative yet familiar menu ranges from classic comfort food like fried chicken and baked macaroni & cheese to rustic delicacies such as roasted bone marrow and steak tartare. The menu is seasonal, and our culinary team sources local and sustainable ingredients whenever possible.
Our beverage menu features a robust and finely curated wine list, local artisan beers, and an inspired Victorian-era cocktail list with a modern twist.
